Earlier this month, our family completed a move from Chicago to Melbourne, Australia. Needless to say, it was an unbelievably exciting and tremendously stressful time for us. We chose Pickens-Kane mostly for their follow-up after my initial call -- we just felt a sense of confidence and comfort that the other providers didn't give us. We were a little concerned that we might not get the same service from the larger Allied network once things left Chicago, so we considered other global companies, but Pickens-Kane still seemed to rise above the others. It was a gut thing, but it wound up being exactly what we needed. What could have been a source of incredible stress went remarkably smoothly. Our things were packed in December, went on a truck, a train, a ship to Taiwan, another ship to Melbourne, got unpacked for Australian customs and quarantine, repacked on a truck and delivered to our new place in about 2 months door-to-door (which is impressive). NOT ONE single thing was broken. They didn't spill a Lego. I'm offering this review because, frankly, that shocked the heck out of me. Bottom line, the service was great. All of our calls and emails were answered immediately. Everything happened right on time. The crews were polite, capable and respectful (and really important for me, they kept things light on the packing and moving days -- some of the most anxiety-inducing days of my life).
